
Biography
Considered one of the most promising voices on the Tunisian music scene, Abir Derbel is forging a demanding path where talent and emotions intertwine in the service of music.
From a young age, she has sung with passion, and at the age of 9, she decided to perfect her craft by joining the Higher Institute of Music in Tunis to study classical Arabic singing as well as music theory.
She holds a diploma in Arabic music from the National Conservatory of Tunis and a bachelor’s degree in musicology from the Higher Institute of Music in Tunis.
In July 2024, she graduated with highest honors with a master’s degree in music and musicology, with a research focus on: The Improvisation Style of Mohammed Omran in the Poem “يا مَنْ هَواهُ / Ya Men Hawè” as an Example.
Over the years, she has continued to refine her talent by performing on Tunisia’s most prestigious stages, through eclectic collaborations that enrich her musical universe. Balancing the technical mastery of Arabic singing with the enchanting softness of her voice, Abir Derbel embodies a delicate harmony, where each note becomes a mysteriously captivating journey.
Her deep sensitivity and the sincerity of her artistic approach make her a luminous voice, ready to leave a lasting mark on the hearts of tomorrow’s audience.
